রাজ্যের সংখ্যাগুরু মানুষের মেনে চলা হিন্দুধর্মে গরু একটি পবিত্র প্রাণী। এবং মধ্য প্রদেশের সরকারে আছে হিন্দু উগ্র জাতীয়তাবাদী দল বিজেপি। তারা যে কেউ সে হিন্দু হোক বা না হোক, সবার জন্যে গরু হত্যা করলে কঠোর শাস্তির বিধান রেখে একটি আইন পাশ করেছে।

ভারতের বেশিরভাগ রাজ্যে গরু হত্যা অবৈধ কিন্তু মধ্য প্রদেশের আইনটি সবচেয়ে কঠোর।

Download Australia is looking at changing it's constitution to recognise the country's indigenous peoples.

A government appointed panel, tasked with finding the best way to do this, has given its recommendations to Prime Minister Julia Gillard.

They include the prohibition of racial discrimination and acknowledging Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People as the first to inhabit Australia.

But any changes to the constitution would require a national referendum, and the prime minister says the task will be a challenging one.

Download Three years ago this week hundreds of Cambodian families were forcibly removed from their homes in the centre of the capital Phnom Penh.

The area known as Dey Krahorm had been the heart of Cambodia's artistic community. Traditional musicians and dancers held classes there in an effort to pass on their skills to the younger generation.

But the city government sold the land to a developer and three years ago this week hundreds of military and civilian police accompanied by workers from the property developer move in with bulldozers and evicted hundreds of families.

Download Burma’s government has held ceasefire talks with ethnic Kachin rebels to end fighting near the northern border with China.

But officials say the preliminary meeting did not yield any major breakthroughs.

The Kachin Independence Army or K-I-A is one of the country's most powerful and well-armed rebel groups.

Earlier this month the government signed a ceasefire with Karen rebels in the east of the country. It has also held talks within the last two months with the Shan State Army.

But as Banyar Kong Janoi reports many are suspicious about these ceasefires.
